Worth a million words
Nino Macuca and William Kenyon are painters for the Carlton
Hotel Restoration Project. To honor their efforts, The ARTery
presents “Painters of the Carlton,” an exhibit
featuring Cuban inspired works by Macuca and spiritual renditions
by Kenyon. Join the artists for an evening of good food, art,
and conversation at the opening this Friday in Atascadero.

Raise the roof
One of the greatest musicals of all time, “Fiddler
on the Roof,” opens this Thursday at PCPA Theaterfest.
Based on the stories of Yiddish writer Sholom Aleichem, the
show features such memorable songs as “If I Were a Rich
Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and “Sunrise,
Sunset.” A new post-play forum is planned for May 5.
Join in a question and answer session with actors, designers,
production staff, and faculty after the show.

Every dog has its day
Here’s something for all you dog lovers out there.
The 14th annual Dog Days in the Park is this Sunday at Santa
Rosa Park in SLO. It’s a perfect way to spend a day
with your mutt. Activities include agility courses, flyball,
Canine Good Citizen tests, and lots more. There will be also
be a microchip implant clinic, pet photographers, canine demonstrations,
pet vendors, low-cost vaccinations, and a dog show. So, grab
your bitch and enjoy the day together.

p.m., at Santa Rosa Park, SLO.
