WINDWARD 2007 PINOT NOIR MONOPOLE PASO ROBLES

Winemaker Marc Goldberg proudly labels this wine monopole because his vineyard and his brand is dedicated to the production of the finest Pinot Noirs. This vintage, his 15th commemorative bottling, is delicious, offering elegant aromas and flavors of black cherry, plums, and strawberries, nicely weaved with wild berry, spice, and mineral notes. Pinot Noir is considered the king of red wines at the table because it’s so versatile. This Pinot will pair beautifully with anything from charred Ahi or cedar-plank-grilled salmon to filet mignon or rack of lamb. Too young to drink now, although it will be difficult to resist, it will reward you after some aging in the wine cellar. It’s a good buy at $38 retail, available at the Paso tasting room and in local restaurants.
