We are all aware of the tough economic times ahead and the difficulty of balancing the budget. There are many worthy programs that are going to suffer but the expenses that must not be reduced are those for our sheriff, police, highway patrol, and fire departments. After all, if we are not safe what good are all the other programs? It is vital that we take a stand on this.
