Well we are coming up on the vote of a couple of crucial bills—Measure D and the Shield Initiative nonsense. Given the current economic crises on federal, state, and local levels, are people really going try to chase Wal-Mart out of Atascadero? It’s on the north end of town. Is Wal-Mart going to obstruct the old-town feel of Staples or Home Depot? I have noticed businesses collapse or struggle on the north side of town and have also seen many of the city’s plans halted due to lack of revenue.

So until Tom Comar is willing to pay for all of our homeowners’ tax increases and support those who have lost their jobs, I think he should reconsider his opposition to Wal-Mart.
