Head for the mountains
Listen up all you music lovers. The Live Oak Music
Festival is finally here, and this year’s lineup promises
to rival any Woodstock-Palooza-Lilith-Coachella-Fest the world
has ever seen. Perhaps that’s an overstatement, but
this year’s musical menagerie is ready to rock all day
and all of the night. Performers include The Sizzling Pandoliers,
Sara Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion (pictured), Quetzal, and
Left of Memphis. Along with all the music, there is food,
camping, and some of the greatest people-watching ever. Just
remember to bring lots of water, wear lots of sunscreen, and
don’t eat the blue M&M’s.
• The Live Oak Music Festival is June 18-20 on Hwy 154
in the mountains near Lake Cachuma. Tickets are $30-$110.
Info: www.liveoakfest.org or 781-3030.

You can laugh if you want to
Juston McKinney, L.A. Sheriff’s Department
D.A.R.E. officer turned comedian, has appeared on “Premium
Blend” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Now, the funnyman brings his comedy stylings to the Central
Coast. McKinney performs this Friday and Saturday at the Spyglass
Inn in Pismo Beach. Bobby Miyamoto, the sarcastic comedian
from Premiere Radio Network, opens the show. This is a real
laughing matter.
• Bob Zany presents comedians Juston McKinney and Bobby
Miyamoto June 18 & 19 at the Spyglass Inn, 2703 Spyglass
Drive, Pismo Beach. Info: 773-1222.
