You say you want a revolution
The drama students at Nipomo High School have joined forces
with students from five other local schools to present “Les
Miserables,” opening this Saturday at the Clark Center
for the Performing Arts. The dramatic musical, set during
the French Revolution, deals with poverty, prostitution, revenge,
love, and the fight for freedom. The grand-scale production
includes amazing costumes and lighting, a false floor, and
even a rotating stage. The show is performed as it is written,
so parental discretion is advised. This isn’t your typical
high school play.
• “Les Miserables” is presented at 7 p.m.
June 5 and at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. June 6 at the Clark Center
for the Performing Arts, 657 Fair Oaks Ave., Arroyo Grande.
Tickets are $12-$17. Info: www.clarkcenter.org or 489-9444.
