SALUTE TO THE HOLLYWOOD MUSICAL is a multi-media presentation of commentary, film clips, and piano performances of the Golden Age of the American musical. CELLO BOSSA, a Brazilian jazz ensemble, performs April 30, 5-8 p.m., at the Studio Café, 1199 Main St., Morro Bay.

1ST ANNUAL MID STATE BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL features The James King Band, Lost Highway, Cache Valley Drifters, Ton Spears & Within Tradition, Sidesaddle & Co., Grateful Dudes, Piney Creek Weasels, John Murphy & Carolina Special, Bear Ridge, Parkfield Peahens, Pacific Crest, The Brother Barton, Borderline Bluegrass Band, Rick Jamison & Copper Canyon, and a special "Kids on Stage" directed by Frank Solivan. The festival takes place April 30-May 2 at the California Mid-State Fairgrounds, Paso Robles. Includes a musical flea market, motorized wheelchair races, food, craft vendors, and more. 2ND ANNUAL PINE MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL fills Stadium Park with Americana, folk, and bluegrass music May 1, 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m., in Atascadero. Featured performers include Laurie Lewis with Nina Gerber, The Waybacks, Rincon Ramblers, Rhythm Brothers, The Tatters, Blackwell/Michael, Grinn & Barrett, and New West. SLO SYMPHONY SEASON FINALE, conducted by Michael Nowak and featuring trumpet and piano soloist Guy Few, is presented at 8 p.m. May 1 at the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly. Tickets are $17-$52. A free "No Ties Allowed" dress rehearsal begins at 1 p.m. Info: www.slosymphony.com or 543-3533.

SWEETS AND OLD SONGS, presented by the Central City Chordsmen, features a cappella music in a barbershop style and features performances by Hometown Harmony and the Pine Grove Elementary School Choir. The event also includes ice cream sundaes. The concert is at 2 p.m. May 2 at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge. Tickets are $6 and a portion of the proceeds benefits Pine Grover Elementary School. CENTRAL COAST CELEBRATION CHORUS, a chapter of Sweet Adelines, invites any woman who wants to sing to any of its 7 p.m. Tues. rehearsals at Congregational Church of Christ, 11245 Los Osos Valley Rd.
