Artist Denise Schryver responds
with emotion to every subject she paints. In turn, her work
oozes with feeling. Her latest exhibit, "SkySongs," features
images of serenity and space. You can meet Schryver and feel
the power at an opening reception this Friday at McConnell

In the big parade
The Broadway
revival of "The Music Man" takes the stage this Tuesday and
Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly. Five-time
Tony Award Winner Susan Stroman's dynamic production of this
American classic features such famous songs as "Til There
Was You," "Gary, Indiana," and of course, "Seventy-Six Trombones."
This dance-happy and song-silly performance is fun for the
whole family.

They're
not kidding around
The
SLO Youth Symphony mixes classic with contemporary in its
spring concert this Sunday at the Clark Center for the Performing
Arts. The young musicians will perform selections from this
year's blockbuster movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean," as well
as pieces from the Disney classic, "Fantasia." In addition
to the famous film scores, the youngins will perform Carl
von Weber's "Concerto No. 2" featuring young clarinet soloist
Andrew Conrad. Kids these days.
