Play along

Get ready for a different kind of theater. PCPA Theaterfest presents its third season of “Interplay: The Stage Between,” a series of staged readings by contemporary playwrights. Local favorite Anastasia Coon (pictured) returns from Los Angeles to perform in “Picasso’s Women.” The other plays include “Lessons of Language Learned,” “36 Views,” and “Stones in his Pocket.” After each performance, the audience is invited to join in a lively discussion with the director and the actors. But keep in mind—some of the material is not suitable for younger audiences.

• “Interplay: The Stage Between” is staged Jan. 8-25 at PCPA Theaterfest, 800 S. College, Santa Maria. Tickets are $15-$20 for adults, $7.50-$17 for students, seniors, and children. Info: www.pcpa.org or 922-8313.
