I recently attended the swankiest holiday soirée on the planet thanks to a host of stylish and strange friends. Although I arrived only an hour after the starting bell, the fabulous eggnog was nearly slurped up. Yes, it was that amazingly good! Of course, there were lots of other incredible local things to drink, but still—I was smitten. That finger of cold, spiced, whiskey-infused nog haunted me until my fair hostess gently let me know I could get more of the stuff anytime I wanted. And then I got off the table and apologized for my brash behavior.

Sometimes you just need a hot chocolate. In a pretty glass. With whipped cream. OK—lots of whipped cream. I doubt anyone would be surprised to know that Madonna Inn’s hot chocolate is, well, aesthetically over the top, but did you know it’s also really, really rich and tasty, too? I’m not always in the mood for cake, but I am certainly always in the mood for quality hot chocolate. Plus, it’s always fun to marvel at the Copper Café’s miniature “little girl’s only” toilet. I mean, c’mon. Where is a toilet of that size manufactured? And why can’t we train dogs and cats to use said toilets? These are all thoughts best mulled over while sitting in a very pink booth sipping a very hot, wintery beverage.
