What's good for Wikileaks is good for Dick Cheney

Cambria

I am as disturbed as others about the current tsunami of leaked classified U.S. State Department documents that are showing up on wikileaks.com. I do not see Julian Assange as any sort of hero. I am not sure how damaging the leaked information is since I, like billions of others, am not privy to the inner workings of state diplomacy.

That said, I am equally, if not more, disturbed about the wanton exposure of CIA operative Valerie Plame, a nuclear secrets expert. Outing her exposed her human assets in many nations such as Iran, Nigeria, and the fragmented nuclear states of the Russian Federation. Those contacts may have been murdered or tortured. The consequences could lead to death on a scale we have never seen before. Those responsible for that outing should be tried for treason against the United States regardless of how high up in the Bush Administration they were positioned.

Calling for the head of Assange without also calling for that of Dick Cheney is hypocrisy of the highest order.
