What is your opinion on people who don’t pay taxes as a form of protest?

“As a taxpayer, I’d like to be able to state an area where my taxes would or would not go to. If that’s not in effect already, I think it’s a perfectly legitimate protest to not pay taxes because it may be going into areas with nefarious purposes.”
