We need to keep the trees we have

Los Osos

I would like to add to a recent handout about a Nov. 19 meeting regarding Sweet Springs Nature Preserve:

Many of Los Osos’ trees and bushes have died; pine pitch canker, the beetle bore, oak root fungus, scale, and the myoporum thrip have contributed to devastating “circle of life” results.

The results of our upcoming sewer are a lower ground water table and roots of trees and bushes cut to install piping. Added are landscaping changes for views or development. We need to keep all established trees and bushes for displaced birds and wildlife. The Pacific Flyway with a National Estuary are also dependent on us.
