Verdad 2010 Albarino Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard

I loved this fragrant Spanish variety for its forward aromatics and layered flavors. Made by winemaker Louisa Sawyer Lindquist, who’s also co-owner of Qupé with her husband, winemaker Bob Lindquist, her Verdad label is devoted to Spanish varieties, including Tempranillo. Her wines exhibit a feminine touch, which is elegantly expressed in this fine Albarino. It offers subtle notes of peach, nectarine, and citrus, and has an excellent expression of minerality. It’s perfect for seafood dishes like bouillabaisse or paella, or with appetizers like smoked white fish. It’s also quite irresistible on its own. It’s made with 100 percent Albarino grown in their estate certified biodynamic vineyard in Edna Valley. A very good buy at $22.50 retail for this exceptional wine, it’s available at their Los Olivos tasting room or at DePalo & Son’s in Shell Beach.
