Sunshine Bottle Works' Spezi and Root Elixirs Lavender Strawberry Soda

If the idea of an “orange and Coke” freaks you out a bit, just hold your horses and listen up. Local soda purveyor Sunshine Bottle Works has unleashed SLO’s first-ever Spezi, a drink beloved by Europeans for decades (and for good reason). This exotic mix of spicy cola and creamy orange extracts is more than a little different. It will surprise your inner food critic while it dazzles your taste buds. Shake it up, why don’t ya?

Sunshine Bottle Works’ Spezi—$18 for a 12 pack; sunshinebottleworks.com.

It’s pink, it’s fizzy, and (OMG, really?) it’s made from all natural ingredients! Yes, you actually can have sweet soda bliss and keep your health cred, too. Not too saccharine and elevated with a kick of bright tartness that begs for a splash of vodka, you are just one pour away from as many as three killer craft cocktails when you keep a chilled bottle handy (pick up growlers of the stuff at The Station SLO, if you need even more carbonated strawberry lavender love in your life). 2017 is looking brighter and more bubbly already.

Root Elixirs Lavender Strawberry Soda—$5 per bottle; rootelixirs.com
