Sunny Acres thanks the community

Sunny Acres

We’d like to thank our SLO County Board of Supervisors and the Planning Department for accepting building plans for our new 14-bedroom ranch house at Sunny Acres. Currently, we are in the plan check stage.

We’d also like to thank attorneys Jeff Stulberg, Cynthia Hawley, Neil Tardiff, Jacqueline Frederick, and John Belsher, who gave generously of their time and expertise to bring this project to fruition; Hans Mager, structural engineer, general contractor Charlie Main, architects Thom Brajkovich and Robert Kincaid; Luther Acers and the other Sunny Acres Board of Directors members Elliot Paulson, Steven Handle, Charlotte Coyes, Tom Morris, and Mary Lemus; David Braun and Matt Lombardini for helping establish our 12-acre garden; Bill Geibel for his caring work with our residents; Presley Surratt, our webmaster; Steve Sistler of Albertsons for his generosity for years; Kyle Wiens, Betty Woody, John Segundes, and Carol Whitaker for their ongoing contributions; Mary Pardin, Sam Vecchione, Greg Cordova, Ken McLaughlin, and Dan Rose for their insight and advice; the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Agape, and First Baptist Church and their youth groups for volunteering in the garden; Cafe Roma, SLO Fresh Market, Bon Temps, New Frontiers, Nautical Bean, Taco Roco, Cal Poly, SLO Veg, and many others who are buying our produce; neighbors and all those who purchase firewood, pumpkins, and Christmas trees that keep our program afloat; and so many others for their continuing support over the years—and most of all, thanks to our residents for keeping the faith.
