SLOMA offering drop-in art classes

Being an adult is overrated. You’re supposed to have “made it” somewhere in life and the fun part—learning new things—is considered pretty much over.

Not true if you ask me. Just last week, I learned how to skim board, hang glide, and make my own sausage. Next, I might even try my hand at painting lifelike portraits of my dogs.

SLOMA is offering drop-in studio-painting classes for the novice to the professional through November with classes ranging from painting, textiles, and fashion drawing, to travel sketching (whatever that is), and more.

Ever want to learn how to mix colors for just the right hue? Want to learn how to paint fearlessly in public without looking like a crazy? Drop in! No registration required.

Learn from pocket sketching guru Kath Macaulay Nov. 13 through 15, rediscover those closet castoffs with an Art Wear workshop with Melinda and Meg Johnson Oct. 16 through 17, and learn how to paint with water-based oil or acrylic paint Oct. 11, 18, and 25. Whatever you do, never stop learning. For more information, visit sloma.org or call 543-8562.
