Forget being quiet and not running around in the library.
Well, only for one night and only if you’re a professional flamenco dancer. But everyone else can watch.
Seattle-based Flamenco dancer Savannah Fuentes will bring her latest show, Northern Lights, to the San Luis Obispo Library on Oct. 30 at 8 pm. Fuentes will be joined by cantaor (male flamenco singer) Juan Carrasco Soto, direct from Spain, and guitarist Bobby de Sofia. The performance will be the 25th stop on a 35-date tour of the Western region of the country.
Born in Seattle to parents of Puerto Rican and Irish ancestry, Fuentes began her studies in her hometown and continued in Spain with dancers such as Belen Maya and Cristobal Reyes.
She currently tours throughout the Western United States and has independently produced more than 250 presentations and workshops featuring internationally recognized flamenco singers.
Tickets are $23 for general, $35 for VIP, $12 for students, and $7 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com.
