Re: “Fact trumps fantasy

Nice command of the language and vocabulary...too bad it will be lost on those that need to read the post and understand that its important to standby the country...not the president.

Re: “Fatal accident spurs study of potential closure of El Campo Road intersection

Im my opinion this cut through should be closed. Traveling north on the 101 there is frequently a car or truck cutting across the South bound lanes of the 101 and playing a game of chicken attempting to merge into and onto the Northbound 101 lanes. You seldom see a turn signal indicator by the driver or a hint as to whether they will stop or stomp on the accelerator to cut in front of northbound traffic. Local drivers know of the danger, but transient drivers coming up or down the 101 have no expectation that there will be traffic barreling across 2 lanes of southbound traffic or be making a suicide merge heading north.

Re: “SLO seeks solutions for idling rideshare cars downtown

The CalPoly students often forget that those appendages attached to their bodies are legs. Im an Uber/Lyft driver. The riders for the most part are very respectful and courteous; but too often they insist on being dropped off and picked up exactly in front of their destination/location so that dont have to walk a few feet to their bar of choice. . They leave the doors open, exit on the side of on going traffic and too often keep you waiting as they say their long good byes to their bros or simply forget that they have a ride waiting.
A designated pick and drop off area would certainly be appreciated, but I doubt it would be used as it might require the rider to actually walk a few more feet.

Re: “Grover Beach Council remains neutral on Measure G

Miram had it right when she made the compassionate statement to deny the Rail Terminal Project of Phillips 66 and she's right again.

The supporters of fracking play to the cheap seats again and say its jobs...its a quality of life issue. Why would you want to play roulette with health and safety. Once the ground water is breached or over. Then think of the impact on the economy.

Re: “Trump supporters drank the golden Kool-Aid

We should have listened more carefully to Mike Bloomberg.

Most of us who have created a business know that were only as good as the way our employees, clients and partners view us, Bloomberg explained. Most of us dont pretend were smart enough to make every big decision by ourselves. And most of us who have our names on the door know that we are only as good as our word, but not Donald Trump.

Bloomberg ripped Trumps business history, including his multiple bankruptcies and approximately 3,500 lawsuits. The current Bloomberg LP CEO also added that he didnt need a million dollar check from his father to start his company.

Trump says he wants to run the nation like hes run his business. God help us. Im a New Yorker, and I know a con when I see one.

Re: “Democratic 'voter guide' tells Nipomo Dems to vote for Compton

Non partisan says Mr,Salter when Lynn is the most strident advocste of the lock step conservative agenda. When it comes to her positions and statements that rely on dog whistle phrases, they can best be defined as weasel words

A weasel word, or anonymous authority, is an informal term for words and phrases aimed at creating an impression that a specific or meaningful statement has been made, when instead only a vague or ambiguous claim has actually been communicated. This can enable the speaker to later deny the specific meaning if the statement is challenged.

Weasel words are often used in political campaigns to deceive.

What better example than this campaign piece and its justification.

Re: “Less out of our paychecks, more in our pockets

During the 1980 Presidential Campaign debate, Ronald Regans signature phase was, There you go again.

I think we can reprise that phrase when it comes to the letter to editor of Ms. Unger when she parrots the alt facts of the Compton campaign while casting aspersions on the folks in Trilogy.

There she goes again disputing the health impacts of blowing particulates

State Parks has acknowledged that wind blown 2.5 particulates that are result of off roaders is a health hazard. Whats more, shutting down the dunes is not the goalthe goal is recognizing the health hazzard and mitigating it. As to the devastating economics of shutting down the park is a red herring issue as the park will not be shut down.

There she goes again with that tired drum beat about developer fees; especially when Jimmy Paulding wants to reduce them to encourage affordable housing.

So there she goes again when she states that Lynn Compton is for fiscal responsibility and promoting our local economy. Ms. Compton has been silent on the issue of offshore exploration that could devastate the booming tourist economy of the California coast should there be an oil spill or catastrophic blowout.

Why invite the risk that Lynn presents...alt facts are not facts.
