We're in the midst of a housing and homelessness crisis. If we don't do something about it, the state or federal government will probably step in. Whatever has been done by local leaders so far has not gotten results.

The reality is that encouraging taller, denser housing would do more for the environment than reducing natural gas use in new construction.

Geriatric NIMBYs have already ruined the county's housing market, making it the 5th most unaffordable in the US. Residents shouldn't let them ruin downtown too.
