The San Luis Obispo City Council's review of a new height ordinance for downtown building has been postponed, following the Planning Commission's decision to hold off on recommendations, according to Associate City Planner Michael Codron.
A public meeting was held June 27, in which the Planning Commission reviewed a draft ordinance bearing all of the specifics for new buildings taller than 50 feet. The commissioners said that more time is needed to consider public testimony, to clarify the language, and to consider the approval process.
The new height ordinance, tentatively approved in February by the council, will only affect buildings in the core downtown area. No date has been set for the commission to address the new ordinance.
