An off-duty CMC lieutenant helped apprehend three males who were trying to steal a Sony PlayStation from Costco on Dec. 17. Nathan Johnson, 18, of Templeton, Jose Delfin, 22, of Hanford and a juvenile male of Templeton went into Costco with “specific intent to steal.
At Costco, a loss-prevention employee witnessed the juvenile perp using a knife to remove the game system from its box while the other two males acted as lookouts. When the employee approached them, the juvenile dropped the knife before fleeing with Johnson and Delfin.
The three ran from the store and into a field where the off-duty CMC lieutenant caught the juvenile and detained him until SLOPD, CHP, and Cuesta College PD arrived at the scene.
Delfin and Johnson were arrested in the parking lot, charged with burglary, and booked into jail. The juvenile was charged with burglary and possession of stolen property and was released to his parent.
