Michael Moore's latest film is pro-feminist

The reviewers in the Feb. 18 issue of New Times discussed how Michael Moore’s new movie, Where to Invade Next, provides a sharp contrast between liberal and conservative political views of how other countries have adapted what were basic American precepts of equality and civility.

One aspect of the review, however, was missing. Where to Invade Next is also a feminist film. What countries were those where the workers were happy and well paid and benefits accrued throughout the economy? What countries were those where people worked for the collective good and education was encouraged? Countries where women participate equally and fully in civic life.

U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier (D-San Mateo) held a showing of the movie in Washington, D.C., at the Capitol Visitor Center. She is the prime sponsor of a resolution that removes the ratification deadline from the 1972 Equal Rights Amendment to allow three more states to ratify the federal Equal Rights Amendment and make it part of the U.S. Constitution. The showing was followed by a panel discussion with women leaders and Michael Moore, to showcase how the film is a great testament to the importance of empowering women and makes a strong pitch for adoption of the Equal Rights Amendment in the U.S.

See for yourself.
