Meth lab bust in AG

Officers in Arroyo Grande unsuspectingly found a meth lab in the 400 block of Beech Street on Dec. 10. The officers were serving a search warrant for narcotics when they found meth cooking supplies, chemicals, and equipment.

"The chemicals were fresh and it appeared that they were in the process of being ready to be used," said Steve Andrews, spokesman for the Arroyo Grande Police Department. "Definitely fresh stuff."

Officers arrested the residents of the house, Daniel Hensley, 36, and Katherine Crowley, 34. Hensley was charged with selling meth and Crowley was charged with possession of meth. The case is still under investigation.

Officials cleaned the house of toxic chemicals and "red-tagged" it, prohibiting anybody from entering the residence. Andrews said the Department of Justice has not determined how much meth could have been, or was, produced at the home. Andrews said the perps were in possession of a "moderate to small" amount of the drug.
