NEW TIMES: What makes your hot springs unique?
HUSTON: Are hot springs are the quintessential experience of this resort. The hot springs themselves were founded over 100 years ago, and were originally used as a medical spa because of the mineral water found here. Our hot springs are unique not only for the natural mineral water, but we offer our guests a private experience with their own hot springs located outside.
NEW TIMES: What amenities do you offer?
HUSTON: We offer massages, facials, and body treatments, as well as many different packages that include a complementary 30-minute hot- spring soak. There are seven different massages, nine types of facials, and three different body treatments. We offer many traditional massages, such as the hot stone massage and a deep tissue massage; however, one of our unique massages, the wine therapy signature massage, has grape seed extracts infused with the massage oils. We also offer such mind-body classes as Tai Chi, yoga, and meditation.
NEW TIMES: Do you plan on featuring any specials in the upcoming months?
HUSTON: We do offer specials for our locals throughout the year. Monday through Thursday we have an integrative massage for $85, which allows our therapist to customize your massage to suit your needs. Also, we’re offering a “day-away” package for $130 Mondays and Thursdays. The package includes a 60-minute soak in the mineral hot springs, a 60-minute massage or facial, a 60 minute body-mind class, and brunch at the Garden’s of Avila restaurant. Starting in April, we will be offering a new spa membership designed for locals.
