What a killer find, I must say. Discovered this at BevMo! in SLO, which sold out. But that’s probably because Trader Joe’s bought it up and they’re offering it at $4.99 a bottle. This sparkling wine is impressive, considering the price. I’ve found it’s consistently refreshing and bought a case. It’s very dry compared to most Proseccos from Italy, where sweetness often compensates for flaws in cheap wines. This one comes from the Trentino-Alto Adige region and exhibits delicate fruit flavors with a kiss of residual sugar, yet it’s dry and elegant. Great for a summertime alfresco party as an aperitif or a good choice with cheese tray, shellfish appetizers, or brunch.
