Re: “More questions than answers

It is curious that our city is the only city in the county which did not pass let alone agendize Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP). All these questions brought up by Councilperson Fonzi could have been answered with a staff report if the item had been agonized. The bottom line is our residents and businesses would be paying less in energy cost with this green energy plan. Call for the Atascadero City Council to agendize this issue which will come before the SLO Board of Supervisors in months ahead.

Re: “Silencing Al Fonzi would be a mistake

If only Fonzi would reveal his sources as evidence of his fake facts.

Re: “Sound off

Yes, we need education in Atascadero from Waste Management. I cant remember when we last had an update on what is recyclable. It would seem education would come first then a fine, if necessary.

Re: “Supervisors reject all-mail election, other measures to boost voter turnout

The majority on the SLO Board of Supervisors fear what is happening across the county--youth, women, voters are more aware of voting issues and are voting in higher numbers than in decades. BUT, and so the Republicans are continuing to do everything in their power to curb, control, discourage voting. In spite of knowing the cost and availability of the new voting system of SB450, SLO will again pass on SB450 and what measures are NOW being taking to educate the public so in 2022 or 2024 we have SB450 in place. I hear the silence.

Re: “County misses $5 million homelessness grant

I applaud the State of CA for getting these monies out to their counties and, Yes, there was a short turn around, but the history of Prop 2 going to the voters and that these monies would be available, one would think, would give the county and organizations the impetus to step forward & work together to get the grant in. It is a sad commentary that SLO County has missed out on 5 M to help solve the homeless issue.

More monies will be coming forward and as a concerned citizen, I hope the County will take some responsibility along with homeless organizations, etc. to be better prepared to have a grant ready to go to assist those with less and get many back into the world of work with training and homes.

Re: “I love my kids and opposed Measure G

You are one of many who was confused by the oil company claims that Measure G went too far. I hope you have read the measure. It will be mind boggling to have 420 new oil wells in south county. I am in north county, but I sympathize with those adjoining the ever expanding oil fields. Measure G going down opens the way for fracking too. No, we do not have fracking now, but in other parts of the county now open for fracking, they must go deeper and frack for the dirty oil.

Re: “Vote no on Measure G

Creative angle totally inaccurate. Check some facts before you write.
Vote YES on Measure G--no new oil fields, but present wells protected. No decrease in tax revenue.
