Krinsky is found guilty on all counts

The Arroyo Grande man police say had a large cache of assault weapons in his home has been found guilty of six weapons-related felonies.

Howard Alan Krinsky, 62, had waived his right to a jury trial. Superior Court Judge Michael Duffy found him guilty on all charges, including possessing, selling, and converting machine guns. He was also found guilty of possessing a “destructive device”—a 20mm anti-tank gun.

All told, deputies initially confiscated more than 200 guns from Krinsky’s home, including 26 illegal assault weapons.

The trial lasted more than a week, with Krinsky taking the stand in his defense and claiming to be a collector of rare and historic weapons—many of which had never been fired.

He faces more than 8 1/2 years in prison but remains free until his sentencing on June 24.
