Kokkonen's the one

Arroyo Grande

At a recent COLAB dinner, Matt Kokkonen arrived early, positioned his truck and a large sign, and then took command of the big tent’s doorway. He greeted everyone who entered and at the closing offered his yard signs. Etta Waterfield worked the refreshment area and the tent floor. Notably absent was Katcho Achadjian: COLAB people and any form of direct action or confrontation are simply not his style.

Katcho was recently endorsed by The Tribune as a moderate and experienced candidate who has a more moderate view on offshore oil drilling, in their opinion. Newly elected Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado also supports Katcho (Maldonado is, of course, the turncoat Republican who voted to raise car license fees).  The Tribune and Maldonado both feel Achadjian is their best hope to get some form of major tax increases passed in lieu of creating jobs and reducing out-of- control spending. The Tribune urges Katcho to be the “man in the middle who can bridge the gap between conservatives and liberals.” In other words: Roll over for more taxes.

The clear choice here is either Etta or Matt. I like Matt Kokkonen.
