This is why I'm not a homeless advocate. This trashing of everywhere they go is absolutely unacceptable.
Two young men sitting on the bench beside the Library return box tried to beg some money from me awhile back. The place was littered with cigarette butts. Their butts. I told them I might have considered giving them money if they had picked up the trash around them, but they clearly didn't deserve my support. Shocked faces.
BTW, I would have completely ignored them and kept my mouth shut if it hadn't been broad daylight, with lots of buses and people around. Homeless people are not only slobs, but dangerous slobs.
I agree with Gail: we have to face the reality that these bozos are here for good. For our own sakes, we need to prevent them from spreading whatever drugs or disease they have along with their bodily fluids.
The Center for Biological Diversity's lawsuit is NOT frivolous. These oil companies are concerned with their profits, nothing else. They want to drill despite the risks to the drinking water for thousands of people and untold wild lives. To hell with these money grubbers. Or if that's too hot for them, they can go to Kern County if you want to destroy water, air, land and wildlife without public intervention.
Thanks for the information, Bonita. I just checked your numbers and they are correct.
Seems like State Parks' Floated to the Top Ranger Ronnie Glick is jerking the facts. Again.
How many unwanted children have you adopted, Al?
Kids born of irresponsible parents know they are not wanted and that nobody cares about how well they do in school, whether they commit crimes or run the streets with a gang of similarly uncontrollable kids. Very few of them turn out ok, and most of those who do turn out to be productive people have been adopted or fostered by loving parents. You can't complain if you offer no solutions.
And yes, the MMS can't say what we're all thinking: Trump is a dick.
Great letter, thanks!
Debbie Arnold seems nice, but she supports ruinous industries. Not a fan.
Excellent article!
I'm so glad I set up a recurring monthly donation to Pacific Wildlife Care. They do such important work.
Your article does not mention the noise from the airport - the fastest growing airport in the nation - which blasts residents beneath the new flight path every four minutes on average, from 5:30am to after midnight every day. Noise complaints to the airport are ignored. The worst offenders are the personal planes, which can sound as bad as a Harley going down your street many times a day.
Re: “Vegan Cheese and Beer Pairing”
This looks good!
