Re: “Keeping it short

This letter sounds just like most Trump supporters. Lots of anger and feelings, no substance. The main problem with politics today, is that everything is personal and tribal with no focus on actual policy.

Re: “Affordability gap: SLO County battles an expensive housing market as it searches for ways to build cheaper homes

It's simple supply and demand. There is high demand for houses and low supply, so prices are high. If you want prices to go down, supply must be higher than demand, which would mean lots and lots of new houses. Which would mean more people, more congestion, more problems.

The high prices make it so there are fewer people, at all, and those few tend to be wealthier. Which is exactly the way most home owners around here want it.

Re: “The capitalist caste system

No one has a right to live in any particular place. You have the right to try.

Re: “We need to restore the foredunes in Oceano

The dunes have more vegetation on them now, than they did before people started to use them for recreation.

Your assumptions about what areas make more and less dust are interesting, please show us your study. LOL.

Be honest, you just don't like the type of people who have fun out there.

Re: “Speak out about the Dunes

If you really thought that dust blowing from the dunes was a real health problem, you would have moved away. You just don't like the people who go out there.

Re: “Why haven't we done anything about housing?

Housing is expensive because it's constituent parts are expensive. Construction is expensive because we have very high standards for safety and appearance. Land is expensive because this is popular place to live. Property taxes are just expensive.

Why haven't we bothered to create more affordable housing? Most people don't really want to. They would rather see the money spent on other projects that they can benefit from. And most people think that poor neighbors are bad neighbors, and would prefer that they moved away, which is unfair and impractical. But, that's the truth.
