Get off it, Pandora
SLO County Parks Commissioner Pandora Nash-Karner “Trying to give kids something to do� (Jan. 27-Feb. 3):
Raping the entire front half of the only park in Los Osos for a skate park has more to do with your “four more courts� group and Central Coast Investments Inc. — DBA Pandora & Co. — than it does with providing the children of Los Osos a place to play. Your decision to put our kids at the front of the park on the main street was about keeping these kids away from your tennis courts.
The kids in Los Osos raised the Los Osos skate park money. Parks budget constraints had nothing to do with it. Their money, presumably, has been held in trust at Mid State Bank in Los Osos, earning interest. Did this money pay for your two new tennis courts? The parks budget shows no capitol expenditures, not even two tennis courts.
As far as the sheriff’s decision to put them out front so they can observe from the car? Pat Hedges can get off his lumpy ass and walk; I paid him all my library money to do that.
Where is the public input for what you and your interests have done? Where is Shirley Bianchi, our county supervisor?
