Re: “Chevron pours $4 million into fight against Measure G

All politics aside, do you drive a car that runs on gas or diesel? Do you want to continue driving that car? Then you may want to have gasoline to fuel the engine and oil to lubricate it. How do we get those products......Just saying.

Re: “Emotional road manipulation by our government

If CA would just pay their bills (debt) they wouldn't have to pay $4 BILLION a year in interest, which would go a long way towards repairing our infrastructure. Additionally, what about the $X BILLIONS of dollars they are receiving from the Marijuana Taxes? Where is that money going? Also the MILLIONS of dollars being save because we have released the prisoners who were only in jail because of low-level drug convictions and we don't have to arrest, convict, and jail them anymore. Now that CA has an $8 BILLION surplus, can you give us our money back, please?? I'm with Lucio, #VoteDemsOut in November as they have FAILED us all.

Re: “More stupidity on the way

This is like the 6:00 news where a snippet is picked out of a story to get the storyteller's point across. I guess it's not important that the USA is getting unfair deals by many countries and now someone is actually trying to do something about it vs. just sit on their hands and doing nothing. In the short-term there may be some consolidations but in the long term I hope that we have much better trade deals with all countries, which will help the entire country. I guess time will tell, but to me stupidity is letting the USA get ripped off every day.

Re: “What's up with Caltrans?

The minimal amount of work and energy that has been put into making highway 41 safe over the last 30 years is disturbing. For a state with one of the largest economies in the world it is extremely disappointing to me that CA wastes billions of dollars every year just paying government debt but we can't find the money to fix what has been known as "Blood Alley" for decades. Over the last few years they have made some attempts and it has gotten better, but still much more needed to make the road safe and WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG?? We all need to hold the state more accountable for their spending on infrastructure and other major functions.

Re: “What's up with Caltrans?

What about the Los Osos Valley Road overpass? What a waste! When they originally built it circa mid 80's I remember thinking that they should have made the bridge much wider and they'll soon be back. Guess what, they should have and they did. How much did they spend this time to widen the bridge? I don't know, but I'm sure it was in the tens of millions or maybe hundreds of millions. During construction they worked on the off-ramp from the north and, for some unknown reason tore up the road completely, dug a big hole, and constructed this piece of concrete that currently lies under the road that was basically the size of a large school bus. No one knows what that is for then they didn't change the ramp one bit! Why didn't they create a right-hand turn lane when coming from the south? It's obvious that they don't really want traffic to flow too quickly as those who want to turn right are backed up sometimes hundreds of feet awaiting for those who want to turn left to move. Additionally, the on-ramp heading south is no un-natural that most people don't spend the energy to stay within the lines so the lines are basically worn away and non-existent at this time. I heard that CA spends 5x times more money per mile then TX, but we're not getting our money's worth. Guess what, that $5B gas tax should help fix things, right?

Re: “The real problem

Barbie, I'm sorry but maybe you should expand your media consumption somewhat as well. Seriously, where have you been living? Since Trump was elected the CA Democrats have been pushing laws that put illegal aliens ahead of citizens and protecting them from deportation. And yes, that's AFTER they break the law. You don't think the Democratic leaders of lie? I think it's time for you to wake up, because apparently you are really not understanding what's going on in California or national politics.

Re: “Tenborg attorney files response in CalCoastNews libel appeal

I have known Charles for over 25 years and truly believe him to be one of the most honest, intelligent, and hard working people that I've ever met. I sincerely hope that CalCoastNews does the right thing, learns from their mistakes, and is able to move on with the highest degree of truth in their reporting.
