Calling all wine lovers! It’s time to treat yourself to an evening of fine food and wine. Edna Valley Vineyards is hosting its Raging Rhone Rendezvous luncheon on June 25. Guests will start with a taste of every Rhone varietal that Edna Valley Vineyards creates. Chef Maegen Loring from the Park Restaurant will pair each wine with a handmade appetizer, followed by a three-course French meal with, of course, wines to match. Lunch will be served in the winery’s banquet room with its panoramic views from noon to 3 p.m. at $50 per person. Edna Valley Vineyards is located at 2585 Biddle Ranch Road. Reservations are required and seating is limited. For more info call 544-5855.

Last year’s bumper crop of wine and the increased number of area vineyards prompted Paso Robles Wine Service’s owners to break ground on a new super-sized wine-case warehouse and shipping center as phase two of their new facility at the corner of Buena Vista Drive and Airport Road in Paso Robles. Scheduled to open this fall, the operation will be one of the largest warehouses in California.

“Because we’re in Paso Robles, our customers will have the added convenience of being able to ship overnight anywhere in the state, said Wine Service representative Nicholas Miller.

Also in the works: The wine service is building a 72,000-square-foot custom winemaking facility slated to eventually house 30 different wine brands. For more info, call 969-5803. ∆
