Trent Tobin, a well known figure in the San Luis Obispo construction industry, died suddenly and unexpectedly from pancreatic cancer and kidney failure last February, just one month before his 50th birthday. He is survived by two young daughters and his wife, Judy, who has battled two bouts of cancer and depended on Trent’s care when she was ill. Trent worked for Holland Construction Co. for more than nine years, and did not carry life insurance. To help the Tobin family through this difficult time, Trent’s friends and the community will hold a Casino Night Benefit at the Holland Ranch on June 28. Tickets for the benefit cost $40, and can be purchased by calling Jaime Strand at 459-9222. Coordinators are also asking for donations for the live and silent auctions that will take place at the benefit. Monetary donations can be made payable to FBO-Tobin Family, and mailed to Carty Holland at 1925 Corralitos Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. All of the money raised will be deposited into a fund to help the Tobin family, as Judy continues to battle cancer.
