Flavor of SLO, the beloved down-home community event featuring tastings of local restaurants, wineries, and breweries, will commence this May 6 … SLO Wine’s summer plans: Roll Out the Barrels kicks off June 22 through 24.

Howl at the moon: Good reviews are coming in for Full Moon Tasting Room in Cayucos lately, where you can taste local wines by the sip, glass, or bottle and nosh on exotic apps. Maybe it’s the moon, but I am ready for a bountiful meat and cheese plate right about now (  …  Feeling frisky? Try Sidecar Cocktail Co.’s newest concoction, The Baby Maker, a flirtatious mix of grapefruit-infused light rum, absinthe mist, and lime … Speaking of sexy spring cocktails, Granada Bistro in SLO just unrolled an incredible new drink menu where local distilleries play a starring roll: Starting in April, cozy up to No Thyme to say Hello (featuring Re:FIND Paso Gin and Kumquat Liquor); Vote for Cedro (featuring LIT vermouth by KROBAR); and Lona & KU, using locally made Calivore Sprits).

Calling all California olive oil producers! The deadline to enter the ninth annual Central Coast Olive Oil Competition is April 6, so you better get on it. The Central Coast Olive Oil Competition, hosted annually by the California Mid-State Fair in partnership with the Lodi Grape Festival, will feature more than 100 olive oils produced in California, and yours could be the next gold medal winner … Pursuing pure flavor: With a beautiful local farm, a buzzing bee hive (OK, 800 healthy hives), and lots of raw honey coming out of their ears, the folks at California Bee Company are living the dream. Find the golden jars on farmers’ market stands and local stores or follow @pursuingpureflavor on Instagram to see the queen bees firsthand … Earth Day is coming up this April 22, and Branch Mill Organics in Arroyo Grande will be celebrating on April 15, serving up more than delicious veggies.
