Grown in the Dry Creek appellation for which the winery is named, this bold Cab is a delicious treat at a value price. Although it has some age, you’ll find it has big tannins and oak aromas, but decanting it will improve the taste experience at this stage. Clearly, this complex wine will age well over the next five to 10 years. I loved the briary notes of lush blackberries, black cherries, and plums with nuances of smoke, tar, leather, and spices. It’s a great choice when you’re grilling a steak topped with gorgonzola, lamb chops, or venison, or pair it with a buffalo burger topped with good cheddar cheese. It’s available at BevMo! for $22.99 retail, and you won’t find many Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignons available at this quality and price level.
