Re: “Those were the days: Cayucos in the '60s

I lived in Cayucos as a child while my father was on maneuvers. Went to a three room schoolhouse where my sister was the entire fourth grade. My teacher was Mrs. Manedi. The principal regularly spanked a naughty girl named Barbara Ferreri. When Pearl Harbor was bombed my father was immediately sent to the Hawaii (code name Plum). Mother, sister and I made a hasty retreat to the safety of Salt Lake City, leaving all our belongings behind except for two guinea pigs that proved to be a hit on the over crowded train. It was their contribution to the War effort. I was seven years old. December 7 is coming up. Remember Pearl Harbor!
