Artist William Barnhill explores water scarcity in Cambria exhibit

As the drought carries on across California, everyone’s got water on the brain.

Local artist William Barnhill explores water scarcity in his exhibit What, Me Worry?, a three-dimensional commentary about the persistent water situation in Cambria, on display at the Cambria Center for the Arts.

The piece is a fountain, featuring the likeness of Alfred E. Newman of Mad magazine fame and depicts local water concerns funneling into his head and pouring out as a stream of water from a spigot on the other side and into a bucket. A water tank on wheels is marked “748 GALLONS,” a number familiar to Cambrians as a single unit of water measured and billed for by the Cambria Community Services District.

The piece will be on display through Sept. 25. Call 927-8190 for more information.
