I am glad to know there are people who are really interested in supporting soldiers, veterans, and veterans’ families. Since the Democrats gained control of Congress, several benefits have been restored to help that population recover from the challenges of war. There is support for soldiers’ physical and mental health, there are college scholarships, and there are programs to reduce the incidence of suicide among veterans. I feel pleased by the support of President Obama, who enacted the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which includes assistance to military homeowners, wounded warriors, and surviving spouses. I think the time has come to appreciate the efforts, courage, and sacrifices soldiers and veterans have made for this country.
