How about permanently closing off Higuera Street through the downtown blocks? 1. It would ensure no car traffic goes through once permanent barricades or post are installed. 2. It would encourage hourly foot traffic which would in turn create more economic growth for downtown businesses and the city overall. Let's be real, both tourists and locals alike enjoy walking through downtown but the sidewalks are too narrow. And let's face it- who wants to listen to some old valley dudes reving their Harleys or frat boys pumping Justin Bieber as they detour through downtown?
