RA237.. #1 it's not about car storage, it's about the fact that that many students live in that area and there is hardly enough parking as there is. It's a small street that not many people use as a through-street. Frankly, I have lived in this town my entire life and when using a small street like that, I consider myself a guest. The needs of the people that live on the street are more important than my own. Your attitude is unbelievable. SUBSIDIZED?! I think they have paid more than enough in their property taxes to pay for that street many many times over.
What really bothers me about this article is that you present this as though it reflected positively on the Sheriff. But there should have been contracts with other facilities in place from the get go. That is a basic responsibility of anyone running a correctional or medical facility. It is a basic responsibility for two reasons 1) liability and 2) because it enables compliance with court orders aka THE LAW. I would like to see what the Sheriff would say if I was pulled over for having a registration that expired 2 years ago and said that I had a committee working on improving that.
Rules?! RULES?! Are you kidding me? You talk about Jim Hill not playing by the rules, but have you looked at the situation in that district as far as corruption? And it's a JOKE that you would quote Shoals of all people, after the seriously corrupt decisions made in Grover Beach over the dispensaries. Are you not paying attention or are you getting bought off too?
