Re: “SLO shouldn't eliminate natural gas in new buildings

"This mandatory conversion to all-electric will impose a disproportionate financial impact"

NO WHERE does this proposal say there is a mandated conversion of existing buildings--the new rules apply to NEW BUILDINGS. The RPSLO must be getting its talking points from the fossil energy lobby which is not interested in the truth, only protecting its obscene corporate profits for the oiligarchs and 1%. All electric is cheaper than natural gas to build and transport; way safer; and with renewable generation, carbon free.

Re: “Hundreds stand against drilling, fracking on public lands

It's better to get our transportation and residential energy from wind and solar. The atmosphere (and our species) cannot tolerate any increased greenhouse gas emissions. Human caused global warming is real and will have catatrophic consequences for us if we do not change quickly. Keep fossil fuels in the ground.

Re: “Say no to Oso Flaco entrance

In all of this discussion please keep in mind that the Pier Ave entrance to the beach in Oceano was supposed to be a temporary one--25 years ago!! This is a casebook example of environmental and social justice where a poor community gets all of the traffic, sand, and pollution of the off road culture; has no safe beach for local families or tourists; and gets very little in return. Oceano--doormat for the dunes.

My comments are not meant to necessarily support the Osos Flaco entrance plan--rather to raise awareness and compassion for Oceano residents who have lived with these impacts for decades.

Re: “Green unicorns

"The underlying assumptions of the climate crisis are based not upon real-world observations..."

OMG Al. What world are you living in?

The objective scientific facts, empirically measured and documented in the REAL WORLD: global temperatures rising, polar caps and glaciers melting, sea levels rising, ocean warming, ocean becoming more acid, 20% world's coral reefs dead, etc, etc.

The lack of response to your la la land promotion of more fossil fuels indicates the marginality of your views in the minds of the rational and reasonable. Why do I bother? Let me contemplate that.

Re: “How do you feel about Plains All American's plans to replace 123 miles of oil pipeline through SLO, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties?

In order to meet the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change goals of 45% reduction of GHG's by 2030 and 100% reduction by 2050, we cannot develop any more oil resources and need to begin phasing out existing ones. Keep it in the ground.

Re: “Enough is enough!

OMG, now it's "environmentalists" who are responsible for wildfires in the National Forests??? Not global warming fueled by Big Fossil? Not profit crazy PG&E transmission lines snapping in the breeze and igniting fossil baked brush and timber? Not stupid local zoning laws that allow development in the middle of dangerous wildfire zones? Not Federal policies that have suppressed controlled burns nor the firefighting lobby that makes millions contracting its services?

Ex-probation officer Harmon sounds like she needs a bit more environmental education to get the objective facts. So much easier to scapegoat those enviro socialists.
