Re: “Meteorologists, do your job

"I cried underwater!" These were the words of a research diver reporting on the death of coral reefs in the island chain northwest of Hawaii. This was just one of many saddening reports at a scientific symposium put on by the Pacific Division of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAASPD) two weeks ago. Coral reefs, huge living structures in all warm oceans, are among the earth's features being destroyed by rising temperatures. The relatively predictable climate patterns that earth has known since the dawn of agriculture and the rise of modern civilization are going away. These climate patterns govern our food supply, the spread of diseases, and the availability of livable space. To say "at least we spoke up" is a pretty weak response. Please give strong support to organizations that are fighting to end the destruction of the earth as we know it in exchange for short-term profit.
