Re: “I need some answers

This is why Al Fonzi is right! President Trump is working for America:
- The accomplishments cover a huge spectrum of issues, including foreign policy, deregulation, immigration, tax reform and health care.
Lets look at some of the highlights of the last two years
The first thing he did was lower our federal income tax,
Passed the biggest tax overhaul in 30 years, with some $3.2 trillion in tax cuts and significantly simplified the tax code.
Eliminated the death tax
No more penalties if you refuse Obama care
Thousands of federal agency business restrictions deleted
CO2 emission restrictions & carbon taxes reduced & deleted
Personal property use relieved of restrictions from Clean Air & Endangered Species Acts
Pulled us out of the Iran nuclear deal.
Pulled us out of the Paris Climate Change accord
Revised the trade agreement with South Korea
Secured $250 billion in new trade and investment deals in China
Since Trump took office, more than 3.5 million jobs have been created, more Americans are employed than ever before, and the unemployment rate is the lowest since 1969.
The unemployment rates for African-Americans (5.9 percent), Hispanics (4.5 percent) and Asian-American (2 percent) are at the lowest in history.
This year, female unemployment fell to 3.6 percent, the lowest since 1953, and youth unemployment was at a 50-year low.
Blue-collar jobs, meanwhile, grew at the fastest rate in more than 30 years.
Our economy grew 4.2 percent in the second quarter of 2018
In another sign of economic strength, an estimated 3.9 million Americans are no longer using food stamps since Trump was elected.

Rolled back the previous administrations Stream Protection Rule, which stopped coal mining.
Approved the Dakota Access Pipeline project and the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to United States refineries,
Approved production of the New Burgos Pipeline to Mexico.
Moved the US Israel Embassy to Jerusalem. Former Presidents have said they wanted to do it for 50 years
Right to refuse service violating your religious beliefs re-instated
Church Tax exempt status is no longer jeopardized if Church takes a political stance
85 Article III judges have been nominated and confirmed. Two Supreme Court judges have been appointed; these are judges that support greater religious freedom and our Constitution.
Decreased the federal bureaucracy by 16,000 positions

Re: “Enslaving the future

Ask yourself; Why would you be required to "op out" rather than "Opt in"? Could it be because they count on the uninformed, busy people to fail to see the small print on the contracts. BINGO!
Just like the schools who require the parents to "opt out" of sex education for their 3 and 4 year old children!

Re: “Rock Steady Boxing helps tackle Parkinson's symptoms

I was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease a year ago at the age of 68. For several months I had noticed tremors in my right hand and the shaking of my right foot when I was sitting. My normally beautiful cursive writing was now small cramped printing. And I tended to lose my balance. Neurologist had me walk down the hall and said I didnt swing my right arm. I had never noticed! I was in denial for a while as there is no history in my family of parents and five older siblings, but now accept I had classic symptoms. I was taking pramipexole (Sifrol), carbidopa/levodopa and Biperiden, 2 mg. and started physical therapy to strengthen muscles. nothing was really working to help my condition.I went off the Siferol (with the doctors knowledge) and started on Parkinsons herbal formula i ordered from Solution Health Herbal Clinic, my symptoms totally declined over a 5 weeks use of the Parkinsons disease natural herbal formula. i am now almost 70 and doing very well, the disease is totally reversed!! Re: “SLO's new construction displaces longtime residents

Gail, with all due respect and I understand why you came to believe these bourgeois myths, but what you believe is why everything you have fought for will never be achieved under that system.

Crony capitalism IS capitalism. There is no special enlightened type of capitalism where the contradictions suddenly don't exist because rich people decide to be nice after seeing a documentary or reading a bumper sticker slogan.

Re: “New federal requirements could affect local family planning services

"Planned Parenthood" pfff more like Unplanned Parenthood, nice cover for an abortion clinic.
Do they offer invitro fertilization, no. It's just for people who want to kill their baby, not have one. Oh and if you are a man they will check your balls too, they are inclusive after all.

Re: “'No plans' to reuse facilities at Diablo Canyon, SLO County says

Gail, the cost of desalinated water is roughly double that of sources from recycling or building a reservoir (source: https://www.mercurynews.com/2014/05/29/nat…). So if it were to become a material part of our supply source without a cheap source of power to run the plant we'd see water costs shoot up. By far the cheapest way to address the need for cheap clean water is increased conservation. I don't know about you but I'd be doing all the things you mentioned the cost of a gallon of tap water doubled.

Re: “Enslaving the future

So if I want to join the CCE, my city or county needs to join into the CCE. If they do join, and I don't want in, I can then opt out. Seems like a no brainer.

Re: “'No plans' to reuse facilities at Diablo Canyon, SLO County says

" keeping the desalination plant for regional water resiliencycounty leaders say no concrete plans have materialized, and it's too early to assume they will ever come."

So I and others will continue to struggle to reduce our water usage to bare minimums
- flush only the solid waste [yellow's mellow, brown is down] and
collect dishwater to use for plants and in gardens to help restore groundwater and
bathe less often
because it is too much trouble to save a desalination plant for local use?

Just one more bad decision alongside the one leading to closing the plant in the first place!

Thank you for shining the light on these kids, and their renewed determination to better their lives. We can all benefit from some discipline, focus and positivity. Good for them, and good for Grizzly facilitating the new direction.

Re: “Statewide immunization policies increase the number of local students receiving vaccinations

Vaccination rates are up, which also takes into account those who have exemptions. The goal was met. SB 276 gives too much power to the state. Doctors are qualified to write medical exemptions. Government officials are not.

Re: “Neighbors from hell

While I have empathy for dealing with frightening neighbors, I also would like to note you had two homes. You did not have to stay there at any time. Chuck, as scary as he is, needs supported housing for mentally ill people. Sadly, we have hardly any resources for mentally ill people in need. I would suggest you should be supportive of more services for mentally ill people, including group homes, if you have compassion and not just privileged ire.

Re: “Stoking the fires of division

Would someone, maybe Mr. Fonzi, please explain the incident soon after Trump was in office where he had the two top-level Russians (prime minister and ambassador) in for a visit to the Oval Office with no other Americans allowed. Pictures were leaked from the Russian "press" and Trump has the happiest most sincere smile I've ever seen from him. Additionally please explain the in-person meetings with Putin and again, no other Americans or any information allowed. Thank you.

Re: “Stoking the fires of division

Mr. Fonzi, I appreciate your opinion. Yet I disagree with your defense of Trump using weak attempts to cast counter-points on his take on racism or white supremacists.

First, dozens of times in his hate filled speeches, hes pontificated about these incendiary issues. And all you can come back with is his daughter is married to a Jew, then the niece of a decades deceased black leader likes him and the media didnt air his denunciation of Nazis enough.

Second, Ive spent time with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and witnessed his narcissism and lies first hand. They are very real and a threat to our democracy.

Heres my first-hand take of Trump

--Draft dodger who wraps himself in our flag but couldn't run faster or further from service to our country. (As an Army lieutenant, Im saddened you dont see the cowardly action by the leader of the free world.)

--Serial adulterer

--Not a leader, but a liar. Recording over 10,000 misleading statements since taking office

--And on racism, he & his dad twice settled racist charges with DOJ to block African-Americans from renting his NY apartments

--Fails his #1 job of protecting America's democracy by encouraging Putin and to the day still doing nothing to defend our elections.

Finally, speaking of incendiary rhetoric, help me understand your last paragraph: If the press continues their slanderous mischaracterization of Trump and his supporters, they will get their headlines. Any blood in the streets of America will be on their hands. Pretty telling Lieutenant Colonel.

Is this who we want our daughters and son's to look up to for leadership?
