Shredder and Harmon, making fun of peoples appearances and this is what feminine power looks like. Who is dumb and who is dumber?

This is the Chief. The top of the department. The buckstops here person. Surely not adequately responsible for the postion she holds?

Re: “Paso says Salinas Riverbed is a public safety emergency

People like Lisa really make me sick to my stomach! This may seem blunt and uncuth to some, but how dare you say something like that! Have you ever wondered when you're going to get your next meal?! Where you were sleeping that night, Or not been allowed in some places because you're mentally unstable, and truly felt bad about yourself because you couldn't control those outbursts?! I think not! Ever wonder why there's so many suicides? I personally think that since people like Lisa obviously have funds to live comfortably, happily ever after, blah blah blah, then they should try and cut back on their special vacations and cruise ship trips or whatever it is that they spend their extra cash on and maybe contribute to the city to start a program that will help get these people the help they need to get off of the streets, off the drugs etc... I realize there are resources to help them already, but the funds aren't great enough because the folks who want to run their mouth about the fact that they exist are too snubby to help! And trust me I get that your extra cash may be hard earned money, maybe not either way that's not my business! but think about this, Has anyone ever walked into an establishment for a job application and been shot down because of your appearance or your background? Chances are, not many! I've had a drug adiction problem in the past, I've been homeless, and hungry, and I've been shot down from potential jobs due to my past and appearance! I am one person who has been through all of that, but luckily for me, I had a few great friends and family members who WERE WILLING to help me get through the dark hallway and push me up the hill that I couldn't make to the top on my own! I now am a proud mother of a healthy, happy, 3 almost 4 year old boy, an in home caregiver, bill and taxpayer, voter, etc. I still drown in bills and am stressed out 85% of the time about it, mind you I only make $13/hour but hey, I may be barely making it by, but I still do what I can to help better the community rather than complain about it on the internet! Ever heard the saying "don't judge a book by its cover" or "walk a mile in someone else's shoes" ??? I highly encourage you to stop and really think about what you're saying and think to yourself how you would feel if you were one of them! Stay humble people! Have a nice day!

Re: “Los Osos approves new GM

Karen Garcia, I called you after your last story to correct you on the false assertion that the district has anything to do with the wastewater project. It was false then, it's still false. The wastewater facility belongs to the County of SLO, the district doesn't manage it or have ny "hurdles" to overcome associated with it.

The district is primarily a water company (they contract with Cal Fire, and perform some lighting and drainage functions) for half the community. It has failing infrustructure and management responsibilities associated with the court ordered adjudicated basin. Implementation of the the projects associated with the Basin Management Plan are costly and controversial.

Their financial health has always been a concern as previous General Managers have had weak accounting skills.

I'm pleased they have chosen Mr. Munds to tackle the issues at hand.

Re: “Cost of resistance

Jay my friend, No one wants people to suffer. People suffering isn't what this is about. If this were about people suffering you would see the same amount of outcry and activism for the opium crisis that is murdering middle America. And if Democrats really need more immigrants to come in then they should be applauding Trump for allowing in record numbers of immigrants. But no one is applauding Trump for bringing in, literally the most immigrants in American history. So what's the problem then? Well the problem is the Democrat establishment wants power and immigration is an effective way to publicly apply emotional blackmail on the Trump administration. It's an issue that the public has been primed for and reacts to emotionally. That's all, it's pure politics. Is there a crisis? Yes, but it's half a century in the making, existed before Trump, has nothing to do with Trump now, and neither party is, either capable or willing, to actually address it. Remember Obama had a much stricter record on immigration, many more deportations, and you didn't hear boo from either party about it, why is that?
I'm not a Trump supporter by the way, he has brought us closer to war with Iran than any other president.

Re: “Our 'never again'

Anyone who supports Trump now is simply evil. No person of conscience can accept what is happening at the border. Only sadistic Nazi scum are pleased with the criminal depravity of the Trump regime.

Re: “Cost of resistance

Trump supporters want innocent to suffer & die. They mock the deaths of children like those evil, depraved birder goons did on their Facebook site. Go on any right wing, Trump devotee website & have a look around, if you have the stomach to do so & have a look around. Trolls on such sites suggest harvesting organs from live children or torturing them in front of their mothers. Trump worshipers are psychopaths. No decent person supports the orange turd. Only morons, sadists, bigots & fools admire him.

Re: “Paso says Salinas Riverbed is a public safety emergency

For those that say they want government to do something about the homeless crisis, what have you brought to the table? Have you attended city council meetings, build or sign petitions? Are you willing to pay more taxes? Nothing is government funded! It's all tax payer funded. Try starting a petition for rent control, it's not easy because I tried in the 80's, but with more effort and the current crisis, you might get somewhere. Maybe go after the drug dealers with harsher punishment so they will be less likely to deal in your state. Vote, attend council meetings, write your Congress, Govenor. You do something and make your government work for you, as this is what was intended. Cali is a shithole because of it's so called leaders! Hold them accountable! We are in a recall effort to get our governor out before we end up like California. Rant over

Re: “A brief reprieve

No wonder we lost the Vietnam War. With military intelligence (an oxymoron) like Al Fonzis we were doomed to lose. Just like then as now science doesnt seem to be a strong suit for Al. As they said in Vietnam, we have to destroy your village in order to save you.

Re: “Our 'never again'

Honored to live in a town with a leader who truly cares about the wellbeing of all people. Thank you for speaking up, and for highlighting that this is not a right vs. left issue. This is a humanitarian crisis that will require all of us to stop competing in our ideologies and to start conversing across party lines about those topics in which we can all relate: What are the origins of your last name? Where is your family originally from? Did your ancestors immigrate here by choice, desperation, or force? Do you remember what it was like to be a child? Can you imagine what it would be like to be taken from your family? Or to have your child or sibling taken from you? We need to remember our humanity. We need to remember these people seeking asylum are human too, they feel like we feel. It feels so much better to love than to hate. It feels so much better to care than to hurt. Those people who are in support of these inhumane policies are scared, let's all make sure that they know they are loved and cared for too. With love and respect for all, thank you for reading.

Re: “Our 'never again'

Yawn. Destroy the middle classes and change the demographics of your country forever because it's too expensive and mean to intern illegal immigrants. Hey Heidi, Ayn Rand called, she want's her ideology back. Remind me again why you call yourself a progressive? I know it's not because of quoting Laura Bush, or criticizing the way illegal immigrants have always been treated. All that weed money gone to your head

And Henry Ramos, a nation of immigrants? Oh come now. Dinesh D'Souza called, he wants his liberal tropes back. Look up the Hart-Celler Act for starters.

Re: “Cost of resistance

Remember when the left was anti-war and Bernie Sanders criticized open borders as "a Koch brothers plan". "Diversity is our strength" is a liberal trope on both the mainstream right and left. The idea that diversity is an end unto itself and can never be critiqued is cult like behavior. Immigration is not popular. If you look at the original statements of Trump questioning immigration policies, they coincided with huge spikes in popularity. Trump was elected specifically because of immigration, while the entire establishment worked against him. That's how powerful the immigration issue is.

Now of course Trump has turned his back on everything he said. No one is moved by tax cuts to the rich, doing everything Israel wants, and "fighting socialism" or whatever tired old liberal ideological nonsense (besides maybe boomer conservatives, but many of them have died since 2016).
So Trump will probably lose unless he makes a radical shift between now and 2020.

Re: “Dunes, dust, drama: Coastal Commission votes against proposed limits to vehicle riding in Oceano Dunes

Actually, six deaths this year. As the article notes, there was one of the very day this agenda item was being heard at the Coastal Commission meeting, and two days later, another death occurred. State Parks needs to address this, and the sooner, the better!

Re: “Paso says Salinas Riverbed is a public safety emergency

Just don't tell the homeless go to residential areas just out of city limits!! Our neighborhood has spent months dealing with those evicted from the River Lodge and RVs parked adjacent. They claim Paso PD pointed them our way! Now we have vagrants with dogs camping and fouling the land and over-running the home of an elderly, mentally unstable single woman. The Sheriffs have helped but we can't get Paso PD to handle crimes from within city limits.
Paso has failed to deal with panhandling, vagrants with animals off leash and RV's being used as homes so now it's become a bigger problem for the larger area.
