Re: “YouTuber mulls legal action after Morro Bay police chief run-in

There is no obligation in California to identify yourself unless you are arrested for a crime (if you are operating a motor vehicle a different set of standards apply). Concerns for Officer Safety without valid probable cause or RAS do not trump a citizen's right to film in public areas. Handcuffing and IDing someone in those circumstances is actually a violation of law and a potential civil rights violation. Usually these sorts of cases do not get pursued because it is expensive to file suit and hire a lawyer. The public agencies have the advantage of being tax payer funded so unless there is a large hue and cry police often are able to violate the rights of citizens with impunity. We shall see what happens in this case.

Re: “YouTuber mulls legal action after Morro Bay police chief run-in

Diana February is absolutely wrong about a citizen being required to identity themselves to a police officer when asked. There are circumstances when this is true, but it was NOT true in this case.

Re: “Show it off: A little body positivity goes a long way

"It was really a community event." If watching depressed brainwashed kids who are probably completely ignored by their parents and are calling for help by being 'trans' is a community event than count me out. These confused kids took to the stage with an obese man in ripped tights who looks like a san francisco nightmare named 'Juicy CuntWhore'. WOW HOW EMPOWERING.What is this Weimar Germany? I'm totally appalled that adults thought it was okay to subject children to this. whats next library drag queen story hour where they hand out penis shaped pamphlets on how to have anal sex to children? will you care about protecting your kids then? what about when one of these 'drag queens' molests your kid at the library will you still be okay with these ppl being around kids? whats it gonna take SLO? why not just promote pedophilia. I miss our conservative cow town, now we live in a suburb of LA and SF and its ruining everything from our degenerating downtowns that have human poo on the sidewalks to the mental health of our kids who want to commit suicide because they dont have strong role models in their communities teaching them right from wrong.I'm praying for you SLO.

Re: “Show it off: A little body positivity goes a long way

Gail once again is a calm and mature voice of reason here. But Im too young for this luxury of the older generation so I should probably take a deeper dive. What to say, what to say... hmmm.

My immediate reaction to this is that I dont think our forbearers stormed the beaches of Normandy and the South Pacific so that Juicy Cunt Whore can have the freedom to indoctrinate our children. If those men knew this is what would become of the West then they would have unanimously preferred to speak German. If this is the end result of liberal democracy then either fascism or communism would have been a better direction.

I wonder who the parents are that take their kids to this? This is clearly child abuse. Burlesque is a sex show. Drag comes from the culture of strip clubs and prostitution. "Juicy Cunt Whore" should not be allowed near children, or in the public view for that matter. Child Protective Services should be outraged. But that institution is currently being used to take children from parents who refuse to have their brainwashed childrens genitals mutilated. Affirming gender dysphoria via public education and legal policies confuses children and parents leading more children to present to gender clinics where they are given puberty-blocking drugs. This virtually ensures that they will choose a lifetime of sterility, toxic cross-sex hormones, and unnecessary surgical mutilation of their healthy body parts. There is a serious ethical problem with allowing irreversible, life-changing procedures to be performed on minors who are too young to give valid consent themselves. Conditioning children to believe the absurdity that they could be born into the wrong body, and that a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse. Yes, this is all about indoctrination of our children. Why do you think the establishment employs snipers to guard "drag queen story hour" from concerned parents who arent buying into it? We are at the point of government mandated homosexuality. I guess thats one way to control the population.

Part of this agenda is being given rights to do things that you dont want to do and never would, like marry the same sex, but at the same time losing your rights to do things that every normal person wants to do and used to be considered normal - like raise a family on one income. The corporate media works hard to create the impression that things are better than ever before (because iToys and the scourge of homophobia is finally overcome!) but the truth is that life is getting much worse by all meaningful measures. Social upheaval is worse than its ever been at any time in American history. We've officially entered into a "okay, the empire is totally collapsing now" situation. More people are committing suicide, doing hard drugs and dying of hard drugs than at any time. All of this tranny stuff is happening, and children are being indoctrinated with it. Any form of open public discourse has just been totally shut down by tech monopolies, and the mainstream political parties have basically decided there wont be any serious discussion about anything. Now I have no idea how much the ruling classes' social-engineering models took into account the idea that men confronted with this situation and with nothing left to lose are going to start doing acts of ultra-violence. Certainly, the scenario has been considered. You can read about it in think tank papers, but I dont know how seriously it was considered at the higher levels of planning. Something to consider if any international bankers are reading this.

Obsession with superficial qualities and genitals in lieu of spiritual investigation and consciousness, this is an existential crisis of Spirit and Being in the universe. We are in an explicitly anti-spiritual zeitgeist combining the two grossly anti-spiritual mentalities: the tawdry orgasm-hunting of the sex-obsessed, and the endless greed and consumer fetishism of modern Anglo-American capitalism. The synthesis gives us a third mentality which is terrified of death and the world beyond, more comfortable drugging itself into submission than making the necessary sacrifices needed to reproduce an enlightened civilization. Destroying all natural social bonds and replacing them with a desire for either materialist gain or raw sensual pleasure is reminiscent of the ideology pushed by the ruling class of Aldous Huxleys Brave New World, who have enslaved the population by way of totally satisfying their base, animalistic cravings. Again, I guess that's one way to control the population.

Re: “Sorry, Lynn Compton: Doesn't work that way

I heard the radio show the letter writer tells us about and I was also appalled by the openly condescending and arrogant attitude freely expressed by Lynn Compton who continually judges a persons value to our community and worthiness for respect by the size of their bank account or land holdings.

Comptons comments were shameful but her attitude was shameless.

Seriously, what good has Compton done for our community? Shes had her chance and has revealed her true colors and her failings, sowing more division, discord and unfairness throughout the county. Our community deserves to give someone else a fresh chance to do the job that she has not been able to do well.

Stephanie what rights are you fighting for? You have the right to get married, no one is denying you a job because ur gay with weird colored hair, no one is denying you housing because ur gay. How are you oppressed? If you think being surrounded by 'breeders' is oppressive then maybe you should move to SF or LA. This USED to be a conservative christian cow town and by golly most people that live here and that have deep roots here like it that way. Its not that I am against gays or think they shouldnt be happy or have rights I am honestly just sick of you people complaining when you having nothing to complain about. Movies and tv ALL have gay characters, HUGE media and clothing companies are aimed to sell you rainbow flag goods. Its amazing to me that you people think you need safe spaces when the entire first world is catering to your every whim. Last of all the name 'Juicy Cunt whore' is not an acceptable name for an adult to be using around kids. What are you going to be pushing next Stephanie?Pedophilia? Because a grown man in tights hanging out with a bunch of impressionable young teens seems like the set up for 'How to catch a predator'. I just want to keep our children safe Stephanie. I'm praying for you.

Re: “Long overdue

Thank you for daring to confront the elephant in our backyard. For too long, Oceano has been held down, economically depressed as the Doormat of the Dunes. We are denied the opportunity to be a normal California beach town with a normal beach and normal beach activities. To paraphrase Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: I ask no favor for my town. All I ask of State Parks is that they take their feet off our necks.

Re: “Sorry, Lynn Compton: Doesn't work that way

Thank you, James Sofranko, for your excellent retort to Ms. Comptons' arrogance. As I wrote before, she dances to her COLAB puppetmasters, and shows little compassion for working people. When she voted a few months ago to make all the little people pay for the 6 Million $$ ground water study in North County that the big Ag folks involved had ALREADY AGREED TO PAY FOR, she showed her true colors. Yep, you folks down in South county are now paying for Paso Robles water studies. Don't think that is fair?? Vote Jimmy Paulding in June, make the needed change happen.

Re: “District 4, take your pick: South County voters will choose between Lynn Compton and Jimmy Paulding for county supervisor

Lynn Comptons paranoia is becoming unbearable. Ask her a tough question and she is certain to believe you are out to destroy her. There is no way you can fairly or competently represent your constituents if that is your attitude.

There is no question the Board of Supervisors has become more divided, messed up and dysfunctional since Compton joined the board.

Re: “Long overdue

For support of this honest journalist's call for action, please see our documentary series "What We Need to Know about Oceano Beach and Dunes" at The commenter, Kevin, took this series down by stealing our name, Safe Beach Now. A child in the series said "We need a safe beach now", which he called an infringement. We took him to court. A federal judge ruled that Kevin is a fake; and ordered our documentary series back up.

Re: “Supervisor Gibson's vacation rental votes to be reviewed for potential conflict

As owner of a residential property in Cambria, I, along with a majority of Cambrians, welcomed the County Ordinance put in effect in 2003, in which Vacation Rentals (VCR) are required to be distanced 150-200 feet apart, so that not every house in residential neighborhoods would have the ability to become a Vacation Rental. In Cambria, we are currently inundated with Vacation Rentals, and the last thing we need is for the ordinance to be undermined by changing it from its original intent, so that Mr. Edwards, by representing his clients, can use their properties for commercial use and profit, at the detriment to full-time residents. Let's not forget that for every client Mr. Edwards represents, is money in his pocket, whether he wins or loses on their behalf!
Cambrians and Cayucans didn't purchase their homes to be surrounded by homes purchased for commercial use, in a residential setting. I find it interesting that Ms. Tacker and her partner, Jeff Edwards, who represents clients attempting to find a way to get around the ordinance, live on a property that has an acre of land. They certainly will never be affected by the issue of Vacation Rentals next door to them, will they?
The SLO County Planning Dept. has denied the Vacation Rentals that have come before the Board of Supervisors, and most recently, in an appeal to the Coastal Commission relating to a Cambria VCR, it was denied, yet Mr. Edwards continues to beat the drum for commercial use in single family residential neighborhoods.
Supervisor Gibson stood up for his constituents and the County Ordinance to avoid VCR's next door to one another, for which I, and hundreds of people who wrote letters to the Planning Dept., Board of Supervisors and the Coastal Commission, are grateful for. I do not believe for a minute that this amounts to a conflict of interest, but rather the interests of Supervisor Gibson's constituents.

Re: “District 4, take your pick: South County voters will choose between Lynn Compton and Jimmy Paulding for county supervisor

Lynn Compton has been a huge disappointment. Her lack of relevant work experience equals her lack of compassion for the middle class and the needs of citizens in her district. Her quasi-libertarian/extremist attitudes combined with her over-bearing us-versus-them paranoia, add up to nothing more than rigid ideological approach , supreme selfishness and greed aimed at helping herself and a small band of behind-the-scene backers and close friends.

Jimmy Paulding, on the other hand,is exactly the kind of respectful, competent and fair-minded candidate San Luis Obispo County needs now more than ever. Meet the man and find out. He has the kind of work experience and background that is a perfect fit for the kind of serious infrastructure work that needs to be done in San Luis Obispo County. Unfortunately, that is the kind of leadership role that Compton has handed over to cynical lobbyists who treat her as a pawn and puppet in their self-dealing schemes. She is not a leader. She is a tool used by others to promote their own selfish interests. The evidence is in nearly every one of her board votes.

Put both candidates side-by-side, ask them both the hard questions, and it becomes quite clear that Paulding is the common sense candidate who will answer the questions honestly and do the most to help the citizens of San Luis Obispo County get along and prosper.

If you're looking for an independent, fair-minded and competent candidate for County Supervisor there is none better than Jimmy Paulding. Meet the man and find out for yourself. The right choice becomes obvious.

Re: “Stoking the fires of division

This is one of the more ludicrous of Mr. Fonzi's posts, of course. In his eight years in office, President Bush's name was cited as an inspiration for exactly zero acts of violence; in President Obama's eight years in office, exactly zero acts of violence were committed by those citing the President's words as inspiration. In Trump's brief tenure, however, 38 acts of violence--to date!--have been committed by those who claim inspiration from Trump's words and views. ANTIFA has killed no one; white supremacists, citing Trump's inspiration, have killed dozens. And what of DJT's "great accomplishments?" Soaring debt? Humiliation on the world's stage? An economy on the brink of recession, threatening to bring down the rest of the world's economy? Playing kissy-face with the same class of fascist dictators that my father (and Mr. Fonzi) fought to defeat? No, this is a lawless President, surrounded by adoring sycophants, simmering in a stew of corruption and anti-American bigotry, thumbing their noses at American greatness and stoking violence among the cult of personality that believes that Trump, uber alles, represents the forgotten voice of the defeated confederacy. You, of all people, having taken the blood oath of office to defend our Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic, should know this better than most; unfortunately, you too have been caught up in the MAGA vapor of resentment against those who, at their core, are more fundamentally American than you.

Re: “Newly passed vaccination laws are pushing one parent to pull her children from school

SB276 will revoke valid medical exemptions. The CDC contraindications to vaccination don't even include seizures or paralysis, some of the most serious side-effects listed on vaccine package inserts. That means that doctors wont be allowed to protect patients who have already had seizures after vaccines by exempting them from further vaccines.

No! Not now, not ever!

The current safety net structure of Medicare shall suffice. It should also be yanked from any ILLEGAL INVADER and their spawn to better help my fellow Americans.

Re: “All lying liars must resign!

And what about Tony Cipolla, the Sheriffs public (mis)information officer? Cipolla was once a trusted local tv news anchor. Nowadays hes simply a Liar for Hire for the sheriffs department. Why should anyone trust him about anything? His credibility is in the toilet. Instead of lying he should learn how to gracefully say no comment rather than continually misleading the public and covering up potential crimes. Our county deserves a public information officer who is independent of the sheriff and works on behalf of the public rather than being a taxpayer-funded propaganda tool for an elected official. Cant trust Tony, a.k.a. Tony Baloney.

Re: “Home on the water: One family lives in Port San Luis Harbor but a rent increase is moving them out

I just wanted to raise some points to this comment. First, we do not pollute the bay. We have a compost toilet that puts out zero discharge, that is disposed of onshore , and by the time it is disposed is ready to be used in a garden. Our boat runs totally on solar for our living aboard needs(no gas or diesel generator). Also, we have been paying property taxes here (as well as in San Diego) because of living on our boat. So please get your facts straight. The county services are a joke. The showers are filthy and broken most of the time, the laundry rooms too. These are also open to the public, not an amenity just for liveaboards. I take offense at you saying we're abusing our kids. They are probably the most well adjusted, smart(They have 3.8 and 4.0 GPAs) , friendly kids you'll ever meet. We take care of all their needs and more. How dare you say that without knowing us, Anne Rider
