Re: “Fossil Wine Bar in Atascadero is where you can find your next favorite wine

To someone like me with an extremely strong sense of smell, the overbearing scent of alcohol found in a wine goblet, makes nearly every single wine I've ever tried in 30 years of being of age to do so, unpalatable.

In fact I gave up trying altogether because the harder I tried, the more pretentious the crowd I found myself within. That's not the experience I was ever looking to find. No thanks.

Now, if you don't mind, please point me to the nearest craft brewery. My drink of choice and clearly my level of peeps.

Additionally, as an Atascadero resident, I repeat what I've posted on other local website:

Atascadero is turning into a urban city like Inglewood with booze on every corner.

Those that can't, make or sell booze.

This town needs real jobs not more booze peddlers.

Re: “Stein's seasoned tri-tip comes to downtown Paso Robles

Their hot pastrami sandwich on a perfectly toasted (optional) French Roll (with a little pull instead of the standard Rye) have been worthy of multiple trips up from Atascadero to gnosh. Everything else that has been tried by family, both visiting and by us, quickly disappears off of their serving baskets.

Thanks Steins BBQ!

Great article. Congratulations Zunigas and to Atascadero for this great new local wine bar.

Re: “Grandma Ingrid teaches people how to make food and build community in Arroyo Grande

Nice, teaching the lost arts. Good for her. Maybe women will realize that when they are older being surrounded by a large family in a warm home you made is better than making power point presentations and having your one kid raised by strangers

Re: “Cheers to nearly five years of putting food (and my foot) in my mouth

We wish you all the best in your new adventure. Your willingness to check out and feature a brand new place in Cambria was just the focus we needed and we still have people come in saying they read about us in New Times! Best to you, Hayley! Love from the crew at Mezzo Italiano to you!!

Re: “Ag history lives, thanks to the Wine History Project of SLO County

I believe Wilmer Tognazzini died a few years back, Wilmer wrote the 100 Years Ago column in the Telegram-Tribune? Or is this a relative? The County History Center first started this wine history project in the early 2000s.

Re: “Ag history lives, thanks to the Wine History Project of SLO County

Looking forward to reading Libbie Agran's interviews with the decedents (deceased winemakers as mentioned previously). Presumably either she or the writer of this article, Hayley Thomas Cain, actually meant descendants. Spell check strikes again.

Re: “'Barrio soul food' at Rosalina heats up Santa Margarita

Just more way overpriced Mexican street food of any other So Cal location south of Ventura.

Some of you need to get out more often beyond SLO. Overpriced does NOT automatically mean good, while very good can be done for a third+ less than $15.00.

This hispanic knows from living in SO CAL, outside of SLO, for all but the last 2 years.

Re: “Dream Big Darling brings women to fore of local wine and spirits industry

Corporate executive ladies meet boozy cat ladies, and why it's a good thing...
"what they want to be when they grow up" How about field hand, crush pad laborer, or forklift driver? Oh wait this is for aspiring upper class women (not working class men who don't deserve any recognition, just mandatory gender relations seminars)

Re: “Dream Big Darling brings women to fore of local wine and spirits industry

OMG when are women going to shut up and just do their jobs instead of needing this endless tirade of back pats for doing what men have done for centuries. HIGHLIGHTING THE FACT THAT YOU ARE WOMEN WHO ARE WORKING IS SEXIST AGAINST MEN WHO WORK CRAP JOBS AND NEVER COMPLAIN.Seriously ladies grow up and shut up.

Re: “Breaking Bread's toast bar is all about choice

Glenna Evans is amazing. Their breads are well worth traveling but they do bring their breads to some of our Farmer's Markets so check them out. I am so happy they will be doing a toast bar at their new place on South Higuera.
If you haven't already make sure you try their bread. You will not be disappointed. They use the finest quality ingredients.
As you can tell I am a big fan.

Re: “Good to the bone: New Times searches for the best wings in SLO

Is there anything more satisfying than eating the wings off chickens? YES. Knowing that no one suffered and died for your selfish pleasure. Go out to Cal Poly and see how that supposedly good school treats the chickens there.

Re: “Gnome Hot Sauce is about flavor first

I love this stuff. My daughter & I are convinced that this sauce is the best. We pretty much put it in everything. Love that I can read and understand all the ingredients. Yum, yum

Not only does Haley, leave you thirsty, breathless and even somewhat excited , ( as a great writer often dies) there is no doubt in MY mind that she speaks the truth about the gals @ 2BROADS CIDERWORKS!
I cant wait to get acquainted!

Re: “Ocean-friendly eateries rethink the way we takeaway

It seem to me we would be wiser to change our personal habits so that waste of all kinds is properly disposed of rather than banning things that cause damage when tossed carelessly aside.
Before the government decided it could regulate personal behavior, TB was reduced by a program of education regarding spitting in the streets. You don't see many of us doing so today, do you?
Effective educational programs or simple awareness of a problem do more to change individual behavior than any ban.
Activists turn to businesses or government is it seems easier than beginning a massive public education program. They forget than many individuals are just as aware as they are regarding the pollution caused by careless disposal of trash.
