I've know Autumn and Dan for years, through the local British pub in my old town, I now live In Germany, but can say for sure, that these two love food, family, and are what's good in California, hope to stop by next year!

The Last Stage West was always a safe place for women and children to use the bathroom, and for decades it was a celebrated spot for acoustic music jam sessions, and for local and national/international touring acts to perform. It's good to see that Ms. King is carrying on the fine tradition of great food and hospitality at The Halfway Station, that was established by the Brittain Family in the 1980s, and continued by Tom Passon until last year.

THANK YOU!! I waited table for 12 years, then went on to my career. It was sooooo easy! Waiting tables made everything else ridiculously laid back in comparison.

Btw, countless reviews state the broth is flavorless compared to much more renowned restaurants that serve the same. I only know this because my (Anglo) wife has read the reviews and tried the place 2x but never again.

Local state dairy production is a great idea, and lesser known or artisan products are a great idea too. I'll keep my eyes out for the Cal Poly dairy in my grocery store. Cheers

I'm so proud to be a Cal Poly SLO grad and cheese is a good group at my house. Cal Poly never ceases to amaze me, especially in competitios. Kudos to all involved in Dairy Sciences...Particularly the cows!

where did you get your fact that vines take 3-7 years to produce fruit. I have never heard of a vineyard taking 7 years to produce fruit when the industry standard is 3 but could be as early as 2 years or as late as 4.

To someone like me with an extremely strong sense of smell, the overbearing scent of alcohol found in a wine goblet, makes nearly every single wine I've ever tried in 30 years of being of age to do so, unpalatable.

In fact I gave up trying altogether because the harder I tried, the more pretentious the crowd I found myself within. That's not the experience I was ever looking to find. No thanks.

Now, if you don't mind, please point me to the nearest craft brewery. My drink of choice and clearly my level of peeps.

Additionally, as an Atascadero resident, I repeat what I've posted on other local website:

Atascadero is turning into a urban city like Inglewood with booze on every corner.

Those that can't, make or sell booze.

This town needs real jobs not more booze peddlers.

Their hot pastrami sandwich on a perfectly toasted (optional) French Roll (with a little pull instead of the standard Rye) have been worthy of multiple trips up from Atascadero to gnosh. Everything else that has been tried by family, both visiting and by us, quickly disappears off of their serving baskets.

I believe Wilmer Tognazzini died a few years back, Wilmer wrote the 100 Years Ago column in the Telegram-Tribune? Or is this a relative? The County History Center first started this wine history project in the early 2000s.

Just more way overpriced Mexican street food of any other So Cal location south of Ventura.

Some of you need to get out more often beyond SLO. Overpriced does NOT automatically mean good, while very good can be done for a third+ less than $15.00.

This hispanic knows from living in SO CAL, outside of SLO, for all but the last 2 years.
