Use public trash cans for dog poop 

Atascadero Lake dog walkers who throw their pets’ waste in the street-side cans of residents may not realize that animal excrement is not recyclable, and so should never be placed in the green or blue cans.

Also, we store our garbage can in the garage in between collection days, and the stench is very unpleasant while working in the garage. If we don’t remove our cans from the street immediately after pickup, we invariably find these poop packets in one or more of our cans. There are plenty of public garbage cans adjacent to the footpath around the lake, so please respect the homeowners by not using the residential cans.
